| Produced in 1992 / 93 and made possible by winning the Deutscher Folk Förderpreis in 1992, the CD Kayada presents itself with oriental themed music with an art rock bias (Colours of Yemen), grippingly beautiful ballads (Kayada) and instrumentals full of playfulness (Tamzara). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The follow up to their mostly jazz-rock influenced debut Kayada, Dost Kervani is an altogether more mellow and accusticly orientated affair. Again they use instruments of oriental (saz, divan saz, cümbüs, darbuka, talking drum, davul, req) and western (guitar, violin, bass, saxophone, keyboards, trumpet, drums) origin plus vocals sung in turkish. Besides balcan influenced music (Balkanesque), original compositions featuring odd time signatures (Across the Plain / On the Jump) one finds arrangements of traditionals from Turkey (Dost Kervani / Dostum). |
